Let this be a warning

To all you 2k players out there, I'm sick and tired of you betting after every single flop if you raise preflop. I am going to start taking you off every single pot if you keep doing this shit against me. I had decided not to get involved with the good players, and just take money off the noobs, but since I'm not shown the same respect, it's on. I've officially declared war on all the good players on Party Poker.

** Hold em or Fold em?

Wow, this one was tough! After being called on the flop, I really felt as though this guy had a T or mid pair, or KJ. What this hand history doesn't show is just how fast he called my min-raise on the flop. Also, the fact that he bet $250 into a pot of $257 or so made me think that a Q was pretty much out of the question. That ten on the turn was the ugliest imaginable card. I finally decided a call was the correct play, because I felt like the odds of this guy having either a 99 or KJ, or complete nothing were just as likely, if not more likely than of him having a ten. I felt a ten would have thought for a few seconds longer before calling my min raise on the flop, but also, with how much money was already in the pot, I would only have to be right a small percentage of the time to make this the right play.

GnightMoon is all-In [$1340]

** Hold em or Fold em?

Wow, what a tough spot. If you've done the math so far, there is $750 in the pot preflop and there are three of us interested in this pot. I could just fold and lose $120, but that just seems so weak to me. I could re-raise all-in and hope that my draw gets there, but then that might scare away lastochka777. But then again, do I really want him calling? What if he has KsTs or Ks9s? Hands that he definitely might have in that spot. I decided to flat call, hoping that lastochka would go all-in, thus making DC10Ball4_20 go all-in as well as myself, that way I would get good bang for my buck, and I was just hoping I was the only one with a flush draw.

Gnightmoon calls [$1200]
lastochka777 did not respond in time
** Dealing Turn ** [Ah]
DC10Ball4_20 bets [$1123]

** Hold em or Fold em?

Aww fuck! That really sucks. I was planning on calling all-in on the river if it was a rag, based on how much money is in the pot, but this was the worst possible thing that could have happened! I can't possibly be good, even if I catch, even though its only $649 more to me.

Gnightmoon folds

lastochka777 shows [Ad, Jc] aces full of jacks

Enlighten me - Master vs. Addict

I once heard that, in order to master a trade, such as dancing, skiing, or poker for that matter, one must put in 10,000 hours. My question is, at what point is the distinction made between an addict and a master of a certain trade. I mean, couldn't you say that all those people "mastering" dance or skiing were just addicts? Being addicted to something has such a negative connotation associated with it, whereas mastering something is elevated to the noble status, and it baffles me. When I tell people I play a lot of poker, they just give me the look, and I can tell exactly what they are thinking, "oh, another poker junkie, how lame". Maybe once you stop sucking at whatever your passion is, it's not addiction anymore and it morphs into mastery?

Happy New Year!

Well, you know your starting to get old when you don't feel like going out on the biggest party day of the year, haha. I ended up staying in, hanging up a few things in my room, and watching Rounders with a bottle of Chianti. Hope everyone had a great night, and that you are all paying the price this morning, muahaha.
