Day 5 - $10,000 Main Event

135 people left and the real money starts at 90 or so. Blinds will start at 6k/12k/2k. Despite drawing a table with a lot of chips, I like my draw. After folding a couple rounds, I'm in the BB when the cutoff open limps and the SB limps. I check my J,4 and the flop came T,3,2 and everyone checked. The turn was a queen and I fire out 25k once checked to, because I don't think the cutoff (a big stack) would limp with a Q,T, Q,J, or K,Q, etc. and there is 56k just lying out there. Both players fold and I pick up a fairly nice pot. One from the cutoff makes it 27k, then the cutoff moves in for 240k and I look down at AKs with a 550k stack and decide to move it. I'm releived when everyone folds and I look over to see a K,9 and my hand holds up to eliminate the second to last woman in the tournament. Next level was 8k/16k/2k and the second hand went like this: mid-position min-raised to 35k and I called in the cutoff with Td,8d and Cunningham calls in the BB. Flop came Kd,7d,6d and the raiser (Mr. 7,7 vs. my 4,4) bet 90k after being checked to. I think for a while about what to do and make it 200k. He went all-in and I called for 95% of my stack and he flips over a scary Ad,Ax. However, no help came for him, and now I'm crusin with 1.5mil. Now I decide to open it up a little, nothing too crazy. I raise 3x BB with Qc,Js in mid-position and get called by the BB. Flop came As,6s,5 and we both check. Turn was a Ks and now he bets 80k into me, leaving himself with 300k behind. I fairly quickly move all-in and he insta-calls with a set of aces. However, the ten on the river gave me Broadway and sent him packin (first suckout of the tournament I believe). Now I'm up to 2.1mil. Michael Binger was now moved to the table to my immediate right with a big stack and the blinds now at 10k/20k/3k. He raises UTG to 60k and I call with Q,Q in second position, as does the SB. The flop came J,7,2 rainbow and Binger bet 140k and I flat call. I bet 150k on the turn, which was a 5, and he calls. The river was a queen and he folds to my bet of 400k. A few rounds later second position makes it 60k, button calls, and I call in the SB with 8,9 and the BB folds. Flop came A,7d,4d and we all check. Turn was a 3 and I bet 120k into them because I don't think the preflop raiser has much of a hand, and the last guy might have a pair, but might fold it in this spot. Preflop raiser folds, but the other guy calls, so now I'm done with the hand, as he could easily have an ace here. River brings another ace and we both check and his pocket queens take it down. Second position makes it 60k, cutoff calls, button calls, I call in the SB with 8d,7d and the BB calls as well. Flop came 8h,7,5h and it checks to the preflop raiser, who bets 145k. Folds to me, and I make it 400k after a long think and he confidently goes all-in. I think for a little bit, then call and I'm releived to see his 8,7! I thought he had a big draw and really didn't want to play an enormous pot in a coin flip situation. A while later, mid-position made it 65k and I call in the SB with Q,J. Flop came Q,J,5 with two clubs and I check. He bet 100k and I made it 325k and he folded. Unfortunately I got moved to a different table at this point. I felt in complete control of the table and worked my stack all the way up to 2.6mil by now, with the average only at 1.35mil. After a few blind steals and no hands worth reporting, this interesting hand came up. One from the cutoff makes it 80k (blinds now at 12k/24k/4k) and I call on the button with Kd,Qd. Flop came Q,Jd,5d and he checks to me. I bet 120k and he calls. Turn was an offsuit 7 and we both check. River was an offsuit 3 and he bets 225k and I call, but he flips over the A,Q and takes it down. Last hand of the day, I pick up 8,8 and make it 100k one from the cutoff (blinds now at 15k/30k/5k). BB called and the flop came Q,9,2 rainbow. He checked and my continuation bet took it down. I ended the day with 2mil (almost exactly an average stack) and very happy with how the day went.
